Alicia Espinoza talks about her childhood in Santiago, Chile; joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was 14 years old; and the difficulties during the political crisis with Pinochet. She talks about her education, becoming a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and dietitian. She talks about serving a church mission, meeting her husband, and moving to the U.S. Alicia compares her life in Utah to life in Santiago. She talks about her oldest son translating for her. She also talks about the importance of education and keeping her culture alive and how she does that in her own family through foodways.
